Snow and/or Ice Emergencies
Refer to local weather reporting to stay aware of conditions.
- Assume that classes will be held, either in person or online. If conditions in your area are severe, use your own discretion when deciding whether to attend class.
- If walking or driving, be careful with ice on walking and driving surfaces. Heavy snow can also decrease visibility.
- Watch for messages from Indiana Tech through the Connect platform and on IndianaTech.edu for weather-related campus closings.
If a County wide emergency is declared or classes are otherwise cancelled due to extreme cold and ice;
- Do not drive unless you absolutely must.
- Stay indoors as much as possible. If you live on campus, immediately report any loss of power or heat to Security.
- If outside; wear layers, a coat, hat and gloves to avoid exposure. If your clothes become wet or the temperature is extremely low, your risk for exposure related injuries increases.
